YX500-Series Wireless Extender
Cell Phone Signal Booster:
Wireless Where You Want It!!
Wi-Ex™ YX500-Series units support either Cellular (800 MHz) or PCS-based (1900 MHz) cell phones, but not NEXTEL or iDEN phones . In many cases, you can visit www.wirelessadvisor.com, enter your zip code and locate your service provider to find your coverage frequency.
Major service providers such as T-Mobile, Metro PCS, Suncom, Cricket and Sprint operate on the 1900MHz band. Therefore, the YX500-PCS is the correct model for you. Other major carriers like Cingular and Verizon can operate on both 800 and 1900MHz frequencies. Therefore, it is important to determine what frequency your provider is operating at in your local area.

| Installation Tips:

|
|
|
The YX500-PCS kit includes an Omni directional indoor antenna that can be adjusted to provide optimal coverage.
To provide the best coverage horizontally in all directions, adjust the antenna so that it is vertical.
This optimal coverage pattern is shown above in light green color. |
To modify the coverage pattern, adjust the Omni indoor antenna away from the vertical position as shown above.
This example shows the base unit and antenna mounted on the outer wall of the building, allowing for coverage area on the floor above.
|
The YX024-PCS is an optional indoor directional antenna used to provide a more focused coverage area in the direction of your choice. Simply point the directional antenna toward the direction you want to cover.
Unlike the Omni directional antenna, the YX024-PCS directional antenna has a minimal coverage pattern on the backside of the antenna. |
