This album is a tribute to fellow bandmate: John Coltrane. As part of the “Classic Quartet”, he recorded many albums with John Coltrane between 1960 and 1965. Recorded originally on the Milestone Label this was one of the first albums he made after he left the Coltrane Quartet. It features several Coltrane classics including “Naimia”, “Promise” and “My Favorite Things”. This solo piano album Remastered on XRCD24 demonstrates the reason why many consider McCoy Turner one of the most influential pianists in Jazz in the past 50 years.
